Down to Business

FLORENCE, Italy - We got back into the apartment around 4:00AM this morning after officially going out last night. As the males of this group, we took it upon ourselves to walk the girls home after leaving Club Twenty-One. Needless to say, class was not the most enjoyable this morning, and I woke up with just enough time to rush over there. Thankfully, today was a short day and was limited to discussing the video project.

I’m a bit concerned about our main objective in coming here. It seems that we’ve broken up into teams with separate ideas and interests, and somehow, we’re supposed to come up with a legitimate cohesive hour-long program for T.V. I must say - I don’t think we’re well-equipped to deliver such a product.

My team decided to do a segment on navigating the streets of Florence via the piazzas. These piazzas are reference points all over Florence. They are popular meeting places, and each one has it’s own face or character.

We spent all afternoon getting our B-roll footage. This is the footage that news anchors cut to after they finish their narration or summary of the story. We shot all of the Piazzas near the main square, and I hope to take a trip to Piazza di Michelangelo next week. This location should give us beautiful shots of Florence, as it sits on top of a hill on our side of the Arno. I was told to sit at the piazza and enjoy a cup of gelato, which, by the way, is amazing here.

honey, im gettin all teary-eyed as i read your blog and check out your pictures! you're stepping on the same exact ground i walked on last summer <3 only wish we could experience it together!

anyway.. speaking of piazza di michaelangelo.... if you go at night, and you find an area away from the lights of the restaurants and stuff up there... the view of the night sky is BEAUTIFUL. the stars are super bright! it's a long walk up there but so damn worth it.

i can't even describe how crazy it feels to know you're over there, in one of the most amazing places on earth.. i'm so happie for ya! LIVE IT UP!!!!!
